Where?

Songwriter Village 2022 will be our first songwriter’s event. It will take place at a beautiful forested retreat center outside of Middletown, CA. There are cabin spaces for 20 participants and camping options for 20 more.

Size?

Our limited size (40 participants) ensures that each participant can receive quality attention from the facilitators and the whole group.

Food?

Songwriter Village will be fully catered with organic food for all diets, including omnivore, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free.

Who?

People of all genders, sexualities, races, and personal identities are encouraged to attend. Our vision of community building includes an acknowledgment of our different experiences and a foundational belief in our inherent connectedness.

We welcome songwriters of all levels of experience. Are you just beginning as a songwriter? We look forward to supporting you. Are you pretty experienced already? We look forward to inspiring you in new directions.

Songwriter Village is organized by Tim Hartnett and Amy Cooper. We also organize Song Village, a gathering for singers to share songs in song circles. And we organize Soul Village, a gathering featuring connection through dancing and singing.

Songwriter Village is a project of Shine a Light Counseling Center, a 501(c)3 nonprofit devoted to providing accessible counseling and emotional healing resources to the California Central Coast community. Any profit generated from Songwriter Village goes to support the Shine a Light Counseling Center mission.
